A different gallery experience

cis-art is nomad gallery of contemporary art. It is a pioneer experience in Barcelona in its kind. Our proposal is to use different spaces for each show, generating a genuine experience.

cis-art considers that nowadays art is assumed from the creative field in connection with other spheres of reality and not as an isolated identity. That is why we believe that an exhibition is a vehicle to create a sensitive dialog between the work and the space in which it is inscribed.

cis-art represents a reduced number of national and international emerging artists.
We understand art from a multidisciplinar perspective that includes painting, collage, instalation, fotography, video…

CIS-ART shows a regular program of 4 exhibition a year as well as colaborations with other galleries, institutions, museums, companies and design professionals in Spain and abroad.

antonio caro
juan pablo echeverri

Using photography and videos as supports; the pop mainstream and youth culture, the people and characters attitudes, the stereotypes, the fashion and style, the music and the media as inspiration sources; the construction of social roles as the gender, the professions, the sexual preferences or the apparent age like places of a questionable status quo, and the games and mechanicals of desire as a body language methodology are the elements from which Echeverri universe is built.

fernando maselli

Through his art projects He explores different aspects of formalism, deepening on the concept and aesthetics as essential values. In his latest work He is especially interested in the relationship between man and unspoiled nature and the role it plays in the conception of ideas such as religiosity or knowledge. The main focus of his research revolves around  the concept of the Sublime, the restrained fear facing the beauty of steep landscapes and the majesty linked to divinity.

morcky

Morcky is an Italian artist who has been living and working in Amsterdam (NL) since 2002. His first involvement in graffiti and street art has evolved in what is now his passion for drawings, on the one hand, and videos, on the other.

Morcky’s illustrations and paintings are mostly a figurative representation of inner experiences that tend to highlight contradictions and paradoxes. His style well expresses such a contrast, since the very detailed images appears sometimes sketchy.

motiscause
gregori saavedra

Gregori’s works rearrange the world to his will, assuming all its complex, dramatic and beautiful features within a delicate and evocative poetry. His collages, a kind of trompe l'oeil, are the result of mixing hundreds of photographs taken by himself. After an extremely meticulous and fussy work, the works show his private universe. A fiction world that claims to be real, in a century where the real and the virtual are difficult to distinguish.

anna taratiel

Taratiel’s work is dominated by colourful and abstract mental landscapes that live in the imaginary space. Using a wide range of simple materials like wood, cardboard, threat and painting she creates collages and installations that provoke an intriguing visual confusion between the two and three dimensions of space.

Inspired by the Art Nouveau architecture, funfairs and the Catalan Modernism beginning of the XX century, Anna’s work is not about abstractions but about the creation of structures and layers in a fantasy world that’s almost tactile.

yang shun

She is part of the group of Chinese artists who tooked the leap into the international art scene in the last decade.

Her work connects the Abstract Expressionism with the Chinese tradition of watercolor. Her evolution from figuration to abstraction is based on the need to flow through the pictorial act in her emotional worlds. It’s that harmony materialized in her works which Yang Shun claims for the world to experience and it’s the same that she seeks for herself out of her aesthetics and ethics.

Her work expands and contracts, floats, in mute silence or in a temperamental way, like dispering smoke, or flowing water .

Open struggle and ongoing negotiation between the private and the public, the parts or the particular and the whole, where the sense is simply the eternal search for balance in spite of the ongoing reality.
